Partner, Aaron Lachant was interviewed on February 12, 2018 by ABC7 News regarding the dismissal of past marijuana convictions in California.
In his interview, Aaron discusses the impact of Proposition 64 in San Francisco and San Diego and the social equity program that is being rolled out in Los Angeles. Aaron goes onto explain that San Francisco and San Diego jurisdictions are proactively dismissing thousands of preexisting marijuana convictions as part of the implementation of Proposition 64. In the city of Los Angeles, however, the burden is being put on the individual to get their convictions dismissed. Los Angeles has created a social equity program for its commercial cannabis licensees to give them the opportunity to have their applications reviewed first.
