Nelson Hardiman successfully defended a leading Southern California cosmetic dermatology practice in an investigation by the Medical Board of California. Over the course of roughly six months, the Board launched an investigation, sending in undercover agents to test whether a marketing consultant would make inappropriate recommendations in violation of California law. The Board also questioned marketing practices of the practice. Nelson Hardiman had prepared the practice of the undercover investigation by developing extensive compliance resources for practice marketing and operations, which were put to the test. After thorough review and interviews defended by the firm, the Board closed the investigation without action.
